bulletEnforce and Defend Your Policy
bulletEnforce as you would any other policy.
bulletHave a plan to react to any employee conflicts and complaints.
bulletTrain managers to deal with opposition and complaints.
bulletAcknowledge the need for cessation programs and decide upon who will address that need
bulletDecide what cessation options you are willing and able to provide.  See the smoking cessation options and resources available in the Make it happen! section of this site.
bulletDevelop a plan for connecting employees with the smoking cessation resources that you are making available to them.
bulletEvaluate the impact of the policy
bulletUse surveys (such as the Employee Opinion Survey) available on the sample smoke-free employee surveys page to evaluate the impact of your new policy.
